Those who sow with tears will reap with songs of joy. —Psalm 126:5
Take a good look at some of the things gardeners plant, and you just might be horrified. Roots, tubers, rhizomes, and bulbs aren’t exactly pretty to look at. In fact, looking at them above ground, you might say they are the exact opposite of beauty. Common sense would tell you to throw them away because they have no use. But these ugly clumps planted in the soil grow into some of a garden’s most colorful and vibrant flowers. What goes into the ground is unrecognizable when it emerges a few seasons later. The same is often true of tears. They are painful and seem contradictory to joy. Common sense tells us they have no worth except to bring us down as a product of our sadness. But the psalmist said they can grow into something beautiful: “Those who sow with tears will reap with songs of joy” (Psalm 126:5). They can bring us a cathartic cleansing in the moment, watering the fruit of healing for the future. If you find yourself in a season of reaping with songs of joy, then sing out and share your joy encouragingly with others. If you are in a season of sowing with tears, draw close to those around you and take comfort—a season is coming that will be filled with songs of joy. The Good Gardener Whom we await in Advent will cultivate vibrant good and beauty even out of our pain and difficulty.

Each week the family of FBC gathers to worship and praise God the Father, His Son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. In our services you will find a balance of contemporary and traditional worship music led by a talented worship team using a variety of instruments. The music, along with prayer and the reading of the Bible culminates in a practical life application message from God's Word. Our goal in worship is to emulate the Psalmist and obey Jesus Christ by worshiping God with our entire being; heart, soul, mind and strength (Mark 12:30). You will find our worship times to be uplifting, challenging and affirming each of us to a daily living faith in and reliance upon Jesus Christ.
Our desire is to come alongside families, reinforcing the truths taught in the Word of God, helping children learn to live out these never changing principles, in an ever changing world.
